What made you want to become a plasterer?
University was never something I was interested in. I get homesick and didn’t want to live away from my family. After GCSEs I started training to be a vet, but it wasn’t for me. My dad is a plasterer, so I tried working for him and loved it. It was the best decision I've ever made.
How long was the apprenticeship?
I did a two-year apprenticeship to become a plasterer. One day, I want to start my own business and could earn £40,000 a year.
What do you love about being a plasterer?
Fitness comes with the job. When I first started out I couldn’t lift a bag of plaster, but now I carry two.
What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time I love riding. My job gives me the flexibility to look after my horse. Sometimes I ride for an hour during the day and go back to work.
