When an order for a structure is received it has to be broken down into components (pieces) which can be manufactured and easily transported. Moulds need to be made and a schedule put together of the order in which they will be made. Accurate drawings of each part are made, the order is costed out and materials procured.

Structural engineers will review all drawings and designs of each component carrying out complex calculations to make sure that the pieces can be stored, transported and lifted into place on site safely.

Project Co-ordinators will work with the client to make sure that the finished structure looks how the client wants it to look.

When all designs, costs and plans are agreed to everyone's satisfaction, the manufacturing process can begin. Just like any other factory process there is a strict order to the way each component is manufactured and finished. Each piece is checked against a quality standard before being allowed to leave the factory.

It's important that components arrive on site in the right order and at the right time. A steel or concrete frame will have been erected and massive cranes will lift each section into place which will then be secured with special fittings.
